Over the years I developed a real passion for guitars, first as a musician, then in the purchase-resale and finally as an upgrader/builder.
As I was restoring, repairing, setting up my own guitars, I managed little by little to learn how guitars are built and how they are put together. I started upgrading and building guitars for myself and quickly my friends asked me to handle their instruments as well.
Later, some of them, even inquired me and trusted me for custom made projects. I had to come up with a brand, so I chose for “Mistress Guitars” as most musicians consider humorously their instrument as their second wife…
These recent years I noticed that the vintage market was going crazy and I couldn’t understand how Custom Shops were so expensive. For most of the musicians, these prices are unaffordable.
My goal is to offer “upper quality” @ “affordable price”.
Additionally I keep everything as local as possible! I mostly recommend the Belgian “Heartbreaker” pickups brand who are magnificent handmade products (mics).
I age the guitar finishes according to usual wear and as per customer preferences. I prefer using Nitro-paint, believing it allows the wood to age further, to breath and to resonate more.
I follow the vintage tradition with modern techniques. No savings are made on the parts or wood I use.
